The Devon Rex Had a Front Row Seat for Christmas Morning

AI imagedevon rexchristmas morningfamily

Large, wide-set ears and big green-gold eyes give this gray Devon Rex a delighted, alert look. She sits in the foreground, turned sideways, while behind her a woman and a young boy sit on the floor with a stack of presents and a mess of toys and paper. A Christmas tree stands in the corner and a small green dinosaur toy lies on the carpet. The cat watches the scene with the intensity of a front row spectator.

Devon Rex cats are playful, curious and very people-oriented, often called pixie-like for their large ears and curly coats. They love attention and may follow you around, climb to high perches and happily join the fun. Because they have a thin coat, they like warmth, so a sunny spot or a soft blanket is welcome. With lots of excitement in a home, give your cat a quiet escape and make sure small toys, ribbon and wrapping do not end up in her mouth. Your vet can answer questions about care.

Gift morning is a joyful kind of chaos, and this cat is clearly enjoying the show. She is waiting for her turn, ready to jump in the moment a box is empty. If the family is lucky, she will bring her own gift to the party, and it will probably be a toy mouse she dragged out from under the sofa.
