Noodle Went Near the Christmas Lights and Came Out Glowing
Somewhere between the tree and the couch, a curly apricot Poodle puppy has become part of the decorations. A string of warm white lights is looped around his body, glowing against his fur, and he looks straight at the camera with a calm, slightly guilty expression. Behind him are scattered wooden toys, a basket piled with stuffed animals, a plaid blanket on the couch, and a mug on the table.
Cords and string lights are a genuine safety topic for puppies. Chewing on a plugged-in cord can cause burns or shock, and swallowing bits of wire or plastic can be a medical emergency. Unplug lights when you cannot supervise, tuck cords behind furniture or into cord covers, and offer a good chew toy as a better choice. If a puppy does chew a cord, check his mouth gently and call your vet for advice.
Poodles come in several sizes, and all of them are known for intelligence and a love of learning. Their curly coat tends to hold on to things, whether those are burrs outside or fairy lights inside, so regular brushing and grooming help. Puppies explore the world with their mouths and paws, which is how a calm afternoon becomes a tangled one. We will name this fellow Noodle. He is not upset, only a little puzzled about how he got here, and every bulb around him seems to be enjoying the moment as much as he is.
