The Bengal Wore the Lion Mane Like He Was Born to Rule
A golden lion mane frames a very serious Bengal face, and the cat inside it clearly knows how impressive it looks. The spotted brown coat, striped with dark rosettes down the flanks, matches the fuzzy fringe almost too well. Round ears poke through the costume, amber eyes stare off to one side, and one front paw is lifted slightly as if the king of the backyard is about to patrol. Oak leaves scatter the grass, a couple of small pumpkins sit near the fence, and the siding of the house glows in the late afternoon light.
Bengals are known for being athletic, curious, and a bit bossy, so a costume like this is a fun test of patience. Many cats dislike anything wrapped around the neck, so it helps to introduce a costume days ahead, let the cat sniff it, and pair it with treats. Keep the first try short, watch for flattened ears or frozen posture, and take it off at the first sign of stress. Make sure the fabric is not tight, nothing dangles where claws can snag, and the cat can see and move freely. If your cat simply refuses, a festive bandana or no outfit at all is perfectly fine, and a vet can offer advice for anxious pets.
Out here, though, the lion seems to be enjoying the attention. Let's call him Leo. He holds his pose long enough for the leaves to settle around him, tail tucked neatly behind, ruling a kingdom made of grass, acorns, and one very lucky garden hose.
