The Star Was Almost in Reach, Thanks to a Boost for the Cat
A pair of helping hands lifts a big brown tabby Norwegian Forest Cat up beside the tree, and she reaches her paws in front of her, gazing at the gold star above. The person holding her wears a green sweater and a copper hair tie around one wrist. Her long coat is striped in brown and black, with a thick ruff at her neck and a bushy tail dangling below. The Christmas tree is strung with small lights and paper stars, and the window beyond looks out on bare golden trees.
Norwegian Forest Cats are large, sturdy animals with thick water-resistant coats, and they are famous as natural climbers. A big cat should be lifted with support under her chest and hindquarters so she does not dangle, and not every cat enjoys being held up high, so watch her body language and put her down at the first squirm. Bringing a tree-climbing breed too close to a lit tree can also be tempting for her, so make sure the stand is stable and the lights and ornaments are secured. A scratching post nearby gives her a better outlet for climbing.
She looks thrilled with the whole adventure, and the star seems almost within reach. Teamwork, a good grip, and a lot of fur make a holiday memory. Her fluffy tail swings below like a feather duster.
