This Little Bat Barely Left the Porch, but the Wings Stole the Show
Small black bat wings are strapped to her back, and a cream-and-white kitten with sky-blue eyes sits on the porch boards in front of a very decorated house. Fake spiderwebs hang on the rail, cornstalks lean by the post, and an orange pumpkin glows dimly beside a pot of mums. Fallen leaves are strewn across the planks, and her fluffy tail curls around her feet.
Ragdoll cats are known for their blue eyes, soft coats, and relaxed attitude. They are usually described as calm and affectionate, and many go limp when picked up, which is where the name comes from. Kittens are slow to reach their final color, since the pointed pattern darkens gradually. For decorations, remember that fake cobwebs can trap paws and, if swallowed, cause trouble in a cat's digestive system. Hang them out of reach, and take down anything stringy once the holiday ends. If your kitten gets into something she should not, call your vet for advice.
With her wings on, she has the look of a tiny, fluffy vampire with a very friendly face. She seems content to sit and let the porch go on around her. The evening is cool, the decorations are glowing, and she is the sweetest creature of the night on the whole street. Even the cobwebs seem to be on her side, hanging politely in the background like the world's most patient audience.
