The Whole Hallway Is White. The Sphynx in the Middle Isn't Sorry.

From one end of the hallway to the other, the floor is carpeted in white. Long ribbons of toilet paper loop across the boards, and countless tiny shreds have been scattered like confetti. Sitting right in the middle, looking up with narrowed green eyes and a deeply wrinkled forehead, is a pink Sphynx. A basket of jackets, a backpack, and a stack of books line the wall behind, all of them innocent bystanders. The cat's expression is less guilty than unimpressed, as if to ask what took you so long to notice.

Sphynx cats are hairless, or nearly so, thanks to a natural genetic mutation. Their bare skin feels warm and a little like suede, and they tend to be outgoing, energetic, and very attached to their people. Because they have no coat, they need a few special considerations. They get cold easily, so many enjoy sweaters, heated beds, and sunny windows. They also need regular baths to remove body oils, and their skin can sunburn if they spend long periods in direct sunlight. That high energy level also means they need lots of play. A bored Sphynx may go looking for entertainment, and the bathroom is full of tempting things to unravel.

There are worse ways to spend an afternoon than decorating the hallway. This little artist has clearly put in a full day of work. A broom, a fresh roll, and maybe a closed bathroom door, and the house will be back to normal.
