Homework Time Was Officially Interrupted by a Small, Shaggy Study Partner
Homework time has been officially interrupted. A brindle Shih Tzu lies on a rumpled green blanket beside a notebook whose pages have been torn, nibbled, and peeled into a ragged stack, with paper scraps scattered around it. The little dog's coat is a mix of dark brown and gold, and its flat face and round dark eyes peer up from under shaggy bangs with a sheepish, slightly worried expression. Around it, the bed is cluttered with pencils, a hair tie, a mug, and gray slippers, all lit by the warm glow of late afternoon sun.
Shih Tzus were bred as companion dogs and are known for being affectionate, cheerful, and happy to spend the day close to their people. They are generally adaptable and do well in small homes. Their long, flowing coat needs regular brushing, and many owners prefer a shorter trim. Because they have flat faces, they can be sensitive to heat and should not be overexerted in warm weather. Chewing on paper is common in puppies and bored adult dogs. Offering safe chew toys and keeping papers, books, and pencils out of reach helps prevent swallowed scraps and lost work.
This little scholar seems to have taken a very hands-on approach to studying. The notes may be unreadable now, but it is hard to argue with a study partner this sweet and this dedicated.
