A Miniature Schnauzer Wrapped Himself in Yarn and Looked Very Serious
Loop after loop of cream-colored yarn winds around a salt and pepper Miniature Schnauzer, from his neck to his paws, and he sits through it with a stern, dignified face. His bushy eyebrows and beard give him a grumpy-professor look, and his ears fold forward as though he is listening to a lecture on knitting. Next to him, a woven basket lies on its side, with balls of yarn in pink, green, and cream spilling across the wooden floor.
Behind him, a couch with a green throw, a stack of books, a plant, and a pair of slippers fill the cozy room, and sunlight slants from a nearby window. We'll call him Stitch. He has apparently decided to try on a new scarf, and he has done it thoroughly.
Miniature Schnauzers are smart, spirited little dogs with a bushy beard and eyebrows, and they are known for being alert, lively, and sometimes stubborn. They are quick learners and enjoy training games, but they also love to investigate. Yarn is a real hazard for dogs and cats alike, because swallowed string can cause a dangerous intestinal blockage. If your dog eats yarn or you see a strand hanging out of his mouth or rear, do not pull it. Call your vet immediately. Keep knitting supplies in a closed bin out of reach, and offer him a safe toy for tugging. Schnauzers also need regular grooming to keep their coat and beard tidy.
Stitch sits tall in his tangle of yarn, calm and serious, the best-dressed dog in the house.
