A Boxer Gave the Hallway a Surprise Paper Parade

The hallway floor looks like the morning after a small parade. Shredded toilet paper lies in drifts along the baseboards and across the tile, and right in the middle lies a brindle Boxer with his front paws stretched out. He wears a crooked, toothy smile that says he enjoyed every second. An open door and a pair of shoes at the far end of the hall suggest that someone is about to come home and find him.

Boxers are playful, energetic dogs known for their goofy sense of humor and their devotion to family. They stay puppyish for years, and many will keep bouncing around the house long after other breeds have settled down. That means they need lots of exercise and things to do, like fetch, long walks and training games. A bored Boxer may shred toilet paper simply because it unrolls so nicely and flies everywhere.

Tissue is not poisonous, but swallowing a lot of it can cause stomach trouble, so it is worth talking to your vet if you think he has eaten a lot. Closing bathroom doors, placing rolls on a high shelf or using a covered holder can save a lot of cleanup.

A tired Boxer is a happy Boxer, so a good run before the family leaves for the day often makes the difference. This fellow does not look tired yet, though, and the confetti is evidently only the beginning of the celebration.
