Breakfast Was Ready, and a Pomeranian Got to the Table First
An orange Pomeranian sits on the kitchen table like the guest of honor, surrounded by plates of scrambled eggs, avocado toast, berries and a half-eaten croissant. His fluffy fur glows in the morning light, and his bright eyes look straight up into the lens. A drying rack, a plant and a folded towel sit behind him. It looks as though breakfast was served for exactly one.
Pomeranians are lively, confident little dogs with fox-like faces and thick double coats. They are loyal and alert, and they often act as though they are much larger than they are. That confidence is why they climb onto chairs and tables to look into everything. Some breakfast foods are fine for dogs in small amounts, like plain scrambled egg, but others are not. Grapes, raisins and xylitol are dangerous, and avocado pits and skins can cause trouble, so call your vet if he eats something questionable.
Teaching a small dog a firm off command, and rewarding him on the floor, helps reinforce good manners. A bed or perch near the table gives him a way to join the family without climbing.
He sits there as though he arranged the entire display. The coffee is probably cold, but the company is delightful. Even so, a dog this charming gets away with a lot, and the toast might just be his reward for the performance.
