Copper the Goldendoodle Sorted the Mail His Own Way
Envelopes, flyers, and bits of paper are piled around the red Goldendoodle like autumn leaves, and he sits in the middle of them with his ears pulled back and a sheepish tilt to his head. His curly apricot coat is soft and fluffy, and his long nose is turned a little off to the side. Behind him is a basket full of laundry, a plant, and a stack of shoes in the corner of the room.
Goldendoodles are a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle, and they are known for being friendly, bright, and energetic. They tend to love people and enjoy games, but they also need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation. The mail is a popular target for dogs because the sound of the mail slot, and the smell of the people who touched it, is exciting. A mail basket on the other side of the door, or a mailbox outside, can protect your letters. Chewed paper is usually not harmful in small amounts, but swallowing a lot can upset a dog's stomach, so ask your vet if you are unsure. Their curly coats also benefit from regular brushing to prevent mats.
We will call him Copper. He has the look of someone who knows the bills have been delivered, and not in the way anyone intended. The mail will have to be sorted, or perhaps just swept, and Copper will be forgiven by dinner.
