The Remote Has Teeth Marks, and the Russian Blue Gazes Up Sweetly
The remote control lies on the wooden coffee table with one corner chewed and crumbling, and right beside it sits a blue-grey Russian Blue gazing up with big yellow-green eyes. Her chin is lifted and her ears are slightly back, giving her the sweet, hopeful look of a cat who would like a very large chance to explain herself. A cozy living room with a couch, a blanket, and a houseplant glows softly in the daylight behind her.
Russian Blues are slender, silvery cats with a shimmering short coat and green eyes. They are known to be gentle, sensitive, and loyal, and they sometimes pick favorite spots or favorite objects. A TV remote carries the scent of the whole family and is warm from handling, which makes it interesting. Chewing on plastic is not safe, though. Small pieces and the batteries inside can be dangerous if swallowed, and button batteries in particular can cause serious injury, so keep remotes out of reach and call your vet right away if you think a battery or piece of plastic was swallowed. Put the remote in a drawer or on a high shelf, and offer a chew-safe cat toy and a play session in the evenings when the family is on the couch.
With that upward gaze, she makes it very hard to stay upset. The channel might be stuck, but her charm is working perfectly.
