A Bengal Cat Claimed the Laundry Basket and Scattered the Clothes

The laundry basket has a new owner. A spotted Bengal cat named Leo sits upright inside it, his golden-green eyes wide and his big ears alert, surrounded by clean shirts and towels that now cover the floor. His striped and spotted coat blends nicely with the basket weave, and a washing machine sits behind him in the sunlight. Whatever happened to the neat laundry pile, he is not saying.

Bengal cats are athletic, curious and playful, with a coat that resembles a small leopard. They are intelligent and energetic, and they love climbing, jumping and exploring. Many Bengals like to carry items around the house and will happily turn a pile of laundry into a nest. A basket of warm clothes is soft, smells like their family and is an excellent hiding place.

Cats love cozy, enclosed places because they feel safe and warm. Providing a cat bed, a box or a blanket near a sunny window can give the same comfort without disturbing your clean clothes. Bengals need plenty of play and climbing space, so tall cat trees and puzzle toys help prevent boredom. If a cat starts chewing fabric, talk to your vet.

Leo sits tall in the basket, frozen mid-adventure, and acts like the whole thing is a royal throne. The clothes may need folding again, but he looks too regal to disturb.
