A White Cat Turned a Cardboard Box Into Confetti and Froze Mid-Crime

AI imagewhite catcardboard boxliving room

Cardboard confetti covers the floor, and a white cat sits beside the tattered box with her golden eyes wide open. Her pink nose and ears stand out against her snowy coat, and a few scraps cling to her paw. The box looks as if it was torn open from the inside, with ragged flaps and a hole near the top. A couch, a pair of sneakers, and some clothes sit in the background, and she looks very alert.

Cats love cardboard, and many cats find it irresistible to scratch and shred. The texture is good for their claws, and tearing it up is great fun for a natural hunter. A box also offers a safe hiding place. Instead of a battle, offer a box of her own with a few holes cut in the sides, or a flat cardboard scratcher, and rotate it occasionally to keep it interesting. Small bits of cardboard are mostly harmless, but if she eats a lot, call your vet. White cats with blue eyes can sometimes be deaf, and sunscreen may be needed for outdoor time, so ask your vet.

She looks calm and quite proud of her work. The box will go to the recycling bin, and she will go to find another one. Somewhere in the house, there is always another box, and she knows it.
