A White Cat Took Over the Wrapping Paper and Smiled About It
Cream-colored wrapping paper with tiny gold stars billows around a white cat who sits in the middle of it with a small, pleased smile. A paper tube lies beside her, a basket of throws sits by the wall, and a lamp and a watering can stand in the background. Her pink nose and ears stand out against the pale paper, and her golden eyes look up in quiet delight. She looks like the proud owner of a very large and very crinkly bed.
Cats love wrapping paper because it crinkles, slides, and makes a good hiding place. A roll of paper is also a great toy for batting and chasing. Paper itself is mostly harmless, but ribbons, tape, and tinsel can be dangerous if swallowed, so keep gift supplies tidy and call your vet if your cat eats any. White cats can get sunburned on their ears and noses, so they should avoid long hours in strong sunshine. Offering a paper bag or a crinkly cat toy can give her the same rustling joy without any risk to the presents.
She seems to think the paper was a gift for her, and she is not wrong. The presents will have to wait for a new wrapping, and the roll will go on a high shelf. In the meantime, the white cat is in her kingdom, perfectly pleased.
