A Sphynx Is Halfway Through a Noodle When You Walk In
A single strand of spaghetti dangles from the Sphynx's mouth, and she has turned her pale gold eyes away from the camera. The plate is broken on the tile floor, red sauce splattered across the cracks, and a pile of noodles lies next to her feet. Her big ears and wrinkled skin look pink and bright against the busy kitchen.
The room behind her shows a cluttered, lived-in home: jeans on the floor, a towel, a potted succulent, a glass of water, and a set of keys. A wooden cabinet and a bright window give the scene a warm, ordinary look.
Spaghetti is a classic temptation, but a pasta plate is not good cat food. Plain cooked pasta is not poisonous, though it adds nothing useful, while sauces often include onion and garlic, which are harmful to cats. Rich or salty foods can upset a cat's stomach. If a cat swallows a lot or begins vomiting, call your vet. To keep her away from dinner, feed her before you sit down and keep plates out of reach. A Sphynx often has a hearty appetite, so measured meals of balanced cat food keep her satisfied.
She is slurping away with great concentration, a tiny noodle-lover caught mid-bite. At least the spaghetti has found an appreciative audience, and she is happy to be the only one watching.
