A Boston Terrier Stands Frozen Beside the Ripped Garbage Bag
The Boston Terrier's eyes are as big as they can possibly be, and a black garbage bag lies torn open on the grass beside him, with wrappers, bread, kibble, and paper spilling across the lawn. His brindle coat, white chest, and short ears stand out against the green yard.
The backyard behind him has a wooden fence, bushes, and garden plants, with afternoon light casting a warm glow across the lawn. A scrap of bread rests near his paws, as though he has only just begun to sort through the treasure. The grass is damp with garbage juice, but he stands in the middle of it all as though posing for a police sketch.
Boston Terriers are friendly, lively dogs who are often called the American Gentleman because of their tuxedo-like markings. They love people, and they can be quite curious. Garbage can be very dangerous to dogs, because spoiled food can cause stomach upset, and bones, onions, grapes, chocolate, and sweeteners are all hazardous. Keep garbage cans closed, and put bags out only when needed. If your dog gets into the trash and seems ill, call your vet. Because of their short noses, Bostons can overheat easily, so keep outdoor time gentle on warm days.
He looks like he is trying to understand what just happened. In a moment, he will probably decide that it was worth it.
