An Exotic Shorthair Sits on a Carpet of Tulip Petals

AI imageexotic shorthairtulipsliving room

The petals are everywhere, and so is the gray Exotic Shorthair, whose round face and tiny nose sit at the center of a carpet of pink and purple tulips. A few petals cling to her whiskers, and her big copper eyes look up with a gentle, guilty expression. Behind her, a notebook and a mug of tea sit on a wooden table, a laundry basket holds clothes, and a blue blanket drapes over the sofa. The whole room is lit by warm, golden light, which makes the flowers glow.

Exotic Shorthairs are often described as the shorthaired version of the Persian, with the same sweet, round face and quiet, gentle manner. They tend to be calm indoor cats who enjoy a cozy lap. Many flowers, though, are dangerous for cats, and tulips can cause stomach upset or worse. Lilies are especially harmful and should never be in a home with a cat. If you bring flowers inside, keep them out of reach, check a trusted list of pet-safe plants, and call your vet immediately if you think your cat chewed a bouquet.

This cat looks as if she knows she has done something wrong, but she is far too elegant to say sorry. The tulips may have been a gift, but now they are a royal carpet. At least she looks very sweet doing it, and the room has never been so colorful.
