A Curly Devon Rex Found the Peanut Butter Jar and Left Proof
Large ears, curly cream-colored fur, and a generous dab of peanut butter right on the nose: the Devon Rex is wearing her crime with confidence. Smaller smears of peanut butter dot her whiskers and cheeks, and her eyes, half-lidded and green-gold, look toward the camera with a tiny, sly smile. Beside her on the counter sits an open jar with a scooped-out middle and a swirl of peanut butter clinging to the glass. A blue cloth lies at the edge of the counter, and the kitchen is calm and bright.
Devon Rex cats are playful, people-loving cats with wavy coats and big, elfin ears. They tend to be curious and clever, and some of them love to climb counters and investigate what is on them. Cats do not need peanut butter, and sticky foods can be hard for them to swallow, so it is best to keep jars closed and put away. Always check labels, since some peanut butters contain xylitol, which is very dangerous to pets, and call your vet if you think your cat ate any. A short wipe-down of the face afterward also helps keep the whiskers clean.
She is far too pleased with herself to look repentant. The whiskers and the nose give away the whole story. It is a sweet kind of mischief, and the jar will probably stay out of reach for a while, though it is clear this curly cat will keep looking for a way to the next one.
