The Folded Laundry Was Done. The British Shorthair Had Notes.
A round, cream-colored British Shorthair has claimed the laundry basket as a throne. Clean clothes spill over the wicker edges in soft gray, white and blue piles, and a few have slipped all the way to the floor. His amber eyes are turned away from the camera with great dignity, and one paw rests on the rim like he's reviewing paperwork. In the warm lamplight behind him, a pair of slippers waits by the door. Let's call him Biscuit.
Cats are drawn to laundry for good reasons. Freshly washed clothes are warm, soft and smell like their people, and a basket gives a cat a snug spot with walls on every side. Cats like hiding places and cozy nooks because they feel secure when something is behind them. British Shorthairs in particular tend to be calm, easygoing cats who enjoy comfortable lounging. If a basket becomes a favorite bed, you can leave a folded blanket in an extra box nearby as an alternative. Just check that no loose thread, string or small items are within reach before he settles in.
Biscuit has no plans to move. The folding schedule has been officially postponed, and the clothes have been rearranged to suit his needs. If anyone asks, he was just sitting here the whole time, and the shirts fell on their own.
