Game Night Was Going Well Until the Devon Rex Joined the Table
A cream-colored Devon Rex lies on a wooden table with her large ears tilted back, her wavy coat glowing in lamplight, and her gaze turned away from the camera. In front of her, a colorful scatter of game pieces covers the table, tiny blue and green figures, yellow and red meeples, hexagonal tiles, wooden discs, purple gems and a few dice. A glowing lamp, a cozy cushion and a potted plant sit in the soft background. We'll call her Biscotti, and the game has clearly changed.
Devon Rex cats are known for their short, wavy coats, huge ears and playful, people-loving personalities. They are curious and athletic, and they like to be involved in whatever their humans are doing, which includes board game night. Small game pieces are a real hazard for pets, because tiny items can be swallowed and cause a blockage, so pick up every piece after play and store the game in a closed box. If you think your cat swallowed something, call your vet right away. A feather wand and a puzzle toy can give a clever cat a game of her own.
Biscotti is lying very calmly among the pieces, as if she is the new dealer. Her expression is peaceful and her tail may be twitching just out of frame. The scoreboard will need a reset, and the next game will start with a count.
