Every Fleet Needs a Fearless Commander. This Jack Russell Was Born for It.
Every fleet needs a fearless commander, and this tricolor Jack Russell Terrier was born for the role. Folded ears, a white face, and patches of black and tan frame a pair of bright, intensely focused eyes. His wiry coat bristles slightly around the muzzle, giving him a weathered seafarer's look. He wears a navy velvet coat with a high standing collar, heavy gold fringed epaulettes, and gold embroidered laurel leaves running down the front. The stance is pure determination, the face of a dog who has never backed down from anything, least of all a squirrel.
Jack Russell Terriers were developed in England in the nineteenth century to work alongside foxhunters, flushing foxes from their dens. They're small but incredibly energetic, bold, and intelligent dogs. That combination means they need plenty of exercise, structured play, and mental challenges, or they may invent their own entertainment, often involving digging, chewing, or barking. They're fast learners who excel at agility and other dog sports. Strong prey drive means secure fencing and leashed walks are important. Jack Russells can come in smooth, broken, or rough coats, all relatively easy to care for with regular brushing. They tend to thrive with active owners who enjoy outdoor adventures.
Under this admiral's command, no ship will ever be overrun by rats. Morale will stay high, provided the tennis balls hold out.
