A Tricolor Cavalier Princess Gazes Out in Her Tiara and Pearls
Princess Clementina wears a small sparkling tiara perched between her silky black ears, and her warm brown eyes glow with gentle charm. The tricolor Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has a white blaze, tan eyebrows and glossy black fur, with a lace collar frothing at her neck and several strands of pearls draped over her chest. A blue velvet cloak with gold embroidery falls from her shoulders, and heavy olive drapery and a stone pillar fill the dark background. The surface is crackled like an old oil painting, and the soft light makes her fur shine.
Tricolor is the Cavalier coat pattern of black, white and tan, and it is one of four recognized colors, along with Blenheim, ruby and black and tan. Cavaliers are small, sweet-natured spaniels that are known for being friendly, gentle and eager to please, and they tend to get along well with children and other pets. They do best with people nearby, since they are social dogs and do not like long periods alone. Regular brushing keeps their silky coat free of tangles, and their long ears should be checked often for dirt and moisture. The breed can be prone to certain heart conditions, so talk to your vet about regular checkups. They enjoy walks and play but are equally happy snuggling on the couch. A short daily routine of activity suits them.
Clementina has all the grace a princess could want. Her tiara may be small, but her sweetness is enormous.
