A Jack Russell Countess Poses in Silk, Lace and Pearls
Countess Rosalind looks out with bright, alert eyes and a gentle tilt of the head, as though she has just noticed something interesting. The white and tan Jack Russell Terrier has folded ears, a tan mask and a dark nose, and she wears a pale blue silk gown that shimmers in the soft light. A white lace collar fans out at her neck, and a strand of pearls and a cameo brooch complete the look. Behind her, dark drapery and a stone column fill the background, and the cracked paint surface gives the painting the glow of an old family heirloom.
Jack Russell Terriers are small, lively dogs that were bred in England for fox hunting, and they have a lot of energy, courage and intelligence. They love to run, dig, chase and play, and they need plenty of daily exercise and mental stimulation to stay happy. Without enough activity, they can become bored and get into mischief. They are very trainable and often love learning tricks, agility and games. Their short, easy-care coat sheds a little and needs just a weekly brush. Because they are bold and quick, they do best with a secure fence and a leash on walks. Talk to your vet about diet and health. A Jack Russell is a bundle of fun.
The Countess is a lady with a lot of spirit. Under that silk gown, there is surely a terrier ready to dash after a ball.
