The Explorer Raises His Telescope and Spots Something Exciting
Adventure is just beyond the pink horizon, and this explorer is raring to go. A white and tan Jack Russell with folded brown ears and bright, curious eyes stands proudly in a rose-colored coat embroidered with gold flourishes, a leather strap crossing his chest. A brass telescope rests in the crook of one white paw, and gold epaulettes and a soft lace cravat finish the outfit. Behind him, pale pastel clouds and flowers swirl in a soft golden light.
His whole face looks alert, as if he has just spotted something moving in the distance. It might be a bird, or it might be a squirrel, but either way it will certainly be investigated.
Jack Russell Terriers were developed for hunting small animals, and they are bundles of energy, courage and curiosity. They are clever and athletic, and they usually need a lot of daily exercise and mental stimulation, such as fetch, agility games and puzzle toys. Without enough activity, they may dig, bark or invent their own projects. A secure fence is important, since a determined Jack Russell can be a talented escape artist. Early socialization and training help channel their enthusiasm, and a vet can advise on an exercise plan that fits your dog's age.
Whatever the explorer has seen out there, he has already decided to chase it. Charting the course is a job for later.
