The Great Dane Officer Led the Charge in a Feathered Golden Helmet
A golden helmet topped with a flowing plume of pink and cream feathers sits proudly on the head of this fawn Great Dane. Soft grey-brown ears hang at his sides, and his gentle dark eyes carry a kind, patient expression. His uniform is pink with golden fringed epaulettes and a wide golden sash across the chest, and he sits before a wall of pastel pink and gold scrollwork. It is the most delicate cavalry charge you could imagine, with a very large officer leading it.
Great Danes are among the tallest dogs in the world, yet they are famously gentle. They tend to be affectionate and calm at home, and many love to lean against their people. Because of their size, they need large, comfortable beds and careful exercise as puppies, since their joints are still growing. They do best with a few moderate walks each day, and a vet can advise on feeding schedules and the risks of serious stomach conditions in deep-chested dogs. Early training helps a big dog stay polite.
This officer would certainly lead a charge, though it would probably stop for a pat on the head. His plume is magnificent, and the army follows him with great affection. The enemy would take one look at that kind face and put down their swords to say hello.
