The Chihuahua Admiral Is Small but the Fleet Knows Who Is in Charge
Enormous ears and big round eyes give this fawn Chihuahua admiral a look of great alertness. His navy blue coat has huge gold fringed epaulettes that seem almost bigger than his shoulders, a row of round gold buttons and a high collar edged in gold. A tiny glimpse of white shirt shows at the neck. Behind him, shadowy drapes and a stone column set a grand stage, and his serious face makes you believe that the whole fleet awaits his order. The gold fringe on each epaulette is painted in tiny strokes that shimmer, and his glossy fawn coat contrasts sharply with the dark blue velvet.
Chihuahuas are the smallest dogs, yet they have enormous confidence, and they often bond strongly with one special person. They can be fragile, so careful handling and supervision around bigger pets matter. They often feel cold, so a warm bed or a sweater is helpful in cool weather. Dental care is also very important for tiny dogs, and a vet can suggest a routine. With patient, kind training, Chihuahuas can be loyal, charming and alert companions who love to travel in a bag or a lap.
The admiral may be small, but his voice is strong, and he will certainly use it to make sure every sailor is standing straight. He leads with courage and a few firm barks. We think the fleet is lucky to have such a spirited commander on board.
