The Norwegian Forest Cat Gardener Brought In the Roses and His Scissors
A cloud of long white fur makes a magnificent ruff around the face of this Norwegian Forest Cat, with tufted ears and amber eyes. He wears a dark green coat with gold leaf embroidery and a cream waistcoat, and over it all a cream apron stained with the marks of honest work. A small pair of garden scissors pokes from the apron pocket. In one white paw he carries a woven basket full of pink and white roses, with green leaves still attached. The dim background makes the blossoms glow like candles.
Norwegian Forest Cats come from Scandinavia, where their thick, water-resistant double coat helped them survive cold winters. They are large, sturdy and good climbers, and they tend to be friendly and gentle with their families. Their long fur needs regular brushing, especially during seasonal shedding, to prevent mats. They enjoy tall cat trees and climbing spots, and they often like to look out at birds. If you keep roses or other flowers at home, make sure the plants are safe for pets, since some, like lilies, are very dangerous for cats.
The gardener seems proud of his harvest, though one suspects the best part of the job is sitting among the flowers. His scissors are sharp and his basket is full. With a fluff of white fur and a basket of roses, he brings a little bit of the garden to every room he enters.
