The Empress Counted Her Subjects Twice. The Aussie Never Misses One.
A jeweled gold crown with sapphire and ruby stones sits above the speckled face of a blue merle Australian Shepherd. The coat is a swirl of silver, gray, and black, with a creamy white ruff that glows against a purple velvet robe embroidered with gold leaves. Ermine trim, dotted with black tails, drapes over her shoulders and is pinned with a glittering brooch. One eye is a pale, icy blue and the other is warm and dark, giving her a striking and gentle gaze. A teal curtain and carved gold chair frame the scene.
Australian Shepherds are energetic, intelligent herding dogs that love to work. Despite the name, the breed was developed in the United States. They need plenty of daily exercise and mental challenges such as training games, puzzle toys, and long walks or runs. Without enough to do, an Aussie may try to herd people, other pets, or even cars, so a job and a routine help. The merle coat pattern is lovely, and eyes of different colors are common and harmless. Their double coat needs regular brushing, and your vet can advise on health screening for the breed.
Her majesty rules her kingdom with calm and care, and rounds up the court whenever it wanders off in different directions. A queen who herds her subjects is a rare and lovely ruler.
