The Devon Rex Gardener Saved the Best Red Rose for Last
A basket of roses sits in the gardener's lap, filled with pink and cream blooms and one deep red rose in the middle. This grey Devon Rex has big pointed ears, round green eyes, and a soft, curly coat that looks silvery in the candlelight. He wears a green velvet coat with golden leaf embroidery, a white lace cravat, and a tan apron stitched with leaves and a pocket at the front. A candle burns at the left, and the whole scene is bathed in warm brown shadows. Petals have fallen on his apron, and a pair of small gardening shears peek out of the pocket.
Devon Rex cats are friendly, active, and always curious about what their people are doing. Their short, wavy coat sheds little, but they still need regular care, including gentle ear cleaning. They love to climb and perch, so a cat tree near a window gives them a good view of the garden. If you have cats at home, be careful with real flowers: lilies are very toxic to cats, and some other plants can also be harmful. When in doubt, keep plants out of reach and call your vet if your cat nibbles something unusual.
The gardener looks very pleased with his harvest. We suspect the roses will end up on the dinner table, far from any whiskers. Everything in this garden is lovely.
