The Cavalier Marquis Sat Very Still in All That Lace
Silky black ears frame a sweet face, and a huge white lace ruff rises around the marquis's neck like a cloud. This tricolor Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has tan eyebrows, a white blaze, and big, glossy brown eyes. His navy velvet coat is covered with golden lilies and scrolls, with gold buttons down the front. The amber glow in the dark background gives his black fur a gentle shine, and he looks slightly to the side with a thoughtful, tender expression. Fine crackles in the paint run across the lace, and his nose shines a little in the lamplight.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are friendly, affectionate dogs that love being near their people. They are usually good with children and other pets, and they enjoy both a gentle walk and a long cuddle. Their silky ears and feathered coat need regular brushing, and the ears should be checked for dirt and moisture. Cavaliers can be prone to heart problems, so regular vet exams are important. Because they love company, they may be unhappy if left alone for long hours. A warm lap and a soft bed make a Cavalier very happy.
The marquis is the picture of gentle manners. If he were to give a speech, it would be short, sweet, and full of tail wags. He seems perfectly content in his lace. Every court needs a gentle soul, and he is it.
