The Pomeranian Captain Put on His Hat and Took Command of the Hills
Land ahoy, or at least a river and a very nice hill. A sable Pomeranian stands in a blue captain's coat with gold epaulettes and small anchors stitched on the shoulders, a white lace cravat at his neck. A black tricorn hat edged in gold sits atop his fluffy head, and his thick, dark-tipped fur puffs out around it like a lion's mane. His round, dark eyes look steady and brave. Behind him, a green valley winds toward a pale mountain under a sky of drifting clouds.
Pomeranians are tiny dogs with huge personalities, descended from larger sled-pulling spitz dogs. They are alert, lively, and often quite vocal, so early training and gentle socialization help keep their bold nature polite. Their double coat needs brushing a few times a week, especially during shedding season, but should not be shaved without advice from a groomer or vet. Because they are small, careful handling and a harness instead of a collar protect their fragile necks, and regular dental care is a good habit.
The painter has turned all that fluff into something grand, and the hat looks perfectly placed. This captain is clearly confident, even if his boat is, at the moment, only a painted idea. Wherever his crew sails, they can trust that their commander will be fluffy, brave, and always ready for a treat.
