The French Bulldog General Wore Every Medal and Still Looked Surprised

AI imagefrench bulldoggeneralroyal portrait

The general has big ears, a flat face, and an extremely well-decorated chest. A fawn French Bulldog looks straight out with wide, dark eyes, his wrinkled forehead and bat-like ears giving him an expression of serious surprise. A navy uniform covered in gold leaf embroidery, a wide golden sash, thick fringed epaulettes, and a glittering cluster of medals shine against the dark background. A white cravat peeks out beneath his chin, and the old canvas is lightly cracked all over, as if the general has seen many campaigns.

French Bulldogs are small, sturdy companions known for their playful, affectionate, and sometimes clownish personalities. Their flat faces make them sensitive to heat and heavy exercise, so keep them cool, offer water, and avoid long, hot walks. They can also snore and wheeze, but any struggle to breathe deserves a call to your vet. Skin folds on the face should be kept clean and dry. Frenchies enjoy short walks, play sessions, and plenty of company, and a healthy weight helps them breathe more easily.

With all those medals, you might expect the general to look fierce, but his face is far too endearing for that. It is the face of a dog who has probably won every battle by being irresistibly cute. The fringe on his shoulders may be golden, but the real treasure is that amazing, wrinkly frown.
