The Abyssinian Knight Stood Still in Silver Armor, but Only Barely
Warm ruddy-brown fur with a faint stripe of black ticking, huge ears and golden-green eyes give this Abyssinian knight an alert, athletic look. Polished silver armor with engraved edges covers the chest and shoulders, and a deep blue velvet cloak with a gold trim sweeps over one side. The dark brown background fades into shadow, and the metal gleams. Sir Cinnamon looks ready for adventure, which, for an Abyssinian, usually means leaping from the cupboard to the top of the curtains and back again before breakfast.
Abyssinians are one of the oldest-looking cat breeds, with a short, ticked coat that gives each hair several bands of color. They are lively, curious and very athletic, and they love climbing, running and exploring. They usually enjoy attention and interactive play, so cat trees, puzzle toys and feather wands are great for them. Their short coat is easy to care for with weekly brushing. Because they are so active, keep windows secured and cords out of reach. A vet can help choose a diet that matches their energy level, and they usually do best in homes where someone is around to play.
The armor is for show, since a real Abyssinian is far too quick to need protection. The knight stands still for the portrait, but his tail is clearly planning something. Even in a suit of silver, you can sense the springy legs underneath.
