Four Yellow Lab Puppies Teamed Up to Escape the Playpen

AI imagelabradoryellow labplaypen

A gray mesh playpen is the setting for a puppy escape attempt. Four yellow Labrador Retriever puppies have their front paws on the wall, stretching up as high as they can. One has managed to hook his paws over the top and peers out with a hopeful grin, while the others push up behind him. Toys, a rope and a few plush animals are scattered around the pen on the wood floor.

A playpen is a helpful tool for new puppy owners. It creates a safe area where puppies can play, rest and chew without getting into trouble, and it works well when you can't watch them directly. Labs are clever, strong and energetic, so make sure the pen is sturdy and tall enough for them as they grow. Add a bed, water and a variety of safe toys, and rotate them to keep things interesting. Playpens should never be used for long periods, because puppies also need exercise, social time and training. Spend lots of time out of the pen with your puppy, and gradually extend freedom as he learns the rules. Chewing, climbing and boredom are normal puppy behaviors, and your vet or a trainer can help if they become a problem.

Somebody will probably need to lift these four out soon. For now they are working on a team effort.
