A Tiny White Puppy Climbed Into the Flower Pot and Stayed
There is a fluffy new plant in the terracotta pot, and it has dark button eyes. A small white puppy sits snugly in the soil with his paws tucked under him, and his ears flop to the sides of his face. A tiny pink tongue peeks from a gentle smile. Behind him, a worktable holds a tea tin, a pair of glasses, folded blankets, and a basket, all softened by window light.
Pots and soil are fun for puppies to explore, but they can be risky. Potting soil may contain fertilizers or additives that can upset a dog's stomach, and many houseplants are toxic to pets. If your puppy likes to dig in the planters, move the plants to a spot he cannot reach. Call your vet if he eats soil or a plant.
The Maltese is a toy breed with a big personality, known for being gentle, playful, and attached to its people. They usually enjoy attention and short play sessions. A pup like this one needs lots of gentle handling and a safe space to explore. A clean, comfortable bed makes a much better seat than a flower pot. A short daily play session also keeps a curious pup busy.
With his white coat and sweet face, he looks like the prettiest thing growing in the house. Nobody could mind a little dirt on that nose.
