A Fluffy White Puppy Sat Down in the Daisies and Looked Up
Daisies by the dozen surround a small white puppy who sits right in the middle of them. His fur is fluffy and a bit tousled, with wispy tufts on his ears, and his dark eyes gaze up with a sweet, thoughtful look. His small black nose points slightly upward. Behind him, a wooden garden fence, herbs, and soft evening light give the whole yard a storybook glow.
Daisies are generally gentle on dogs, but gardens contain many plants that are not. Bulbs, some herbs, and lawn chemicals can make a puppy sick, so know what grows in your yard. Keep a small Maltese puppy under watch outdoors, since they are tiny enough to be overlooked by birds, bigger dogs, and even a wandering cat. A secure fence and a leash give extra peace of mind.
Maltese dogs have a silky, hairlike coat that grows long, so grass seeds and burrs can easily snag in it. After a garden visit, brush gently to check for tangles, and look between the toes and in the ears. Regular grooming also helps puppies get used to being handled. A quick wipe of the paws at the door keeps the house tidy.
With his white coat and wide eyes, he looks like the prettiest daisy in the patch. We'd say he is the best bloom of the season.
