Three Beagle Puppies Climbed Into Rain Boots and Peeked Out
Three red and white Beagle puppies have each claimed a rain boot, and they peek out at us with just their heads and white chests showing. One sits in a moss green boot, one in a deep navy boot and one in a gray boot. Their ears hang long and glossy, and their eyes are bright. A wooden door, a doormat and a potted plant fill the background of the porch, and the afternoon looks cool and damp.
Puppies love to hide in snug places, and a boot is the perfect size for a small body. They are also very drawn to shoes, thanks to the strong smell of their owner. Shoes and boots can be chewed or swallowed, though, so keep them out of reach when the puppy is not supervised. Give your puppy a chew toy that smells like you instead. Beagles are especially good at finding things, so expect to find missing socks and gloves from time to time.
On rainy days, dry your puppy's paws and ears when you come in, since damp ears can lead to problems. Ask your vet about ear care.
For now, each of the three has found the right fit, and none of them is willing to swap. When the rain stops, the boots will go back to their original job, but the memory of three tiny tenants will linger.
