This Samoyed Puppy Has Giant Paws and Zero Plans to Move
Big paws first: this puppy has stretched out on a scuffed wooden kitchen floor with her front feet reaching toward the camera like two fluffy pillows. Her head turns to one side, her dark eyes look calm and a little thoughtful, and her ears hang soft at her sides. Behind her are pale cabinets, a window with a hanging towel, and a basket holding a couple of pieces of fruit.
Oversized paws on a puppy are a charming hint that growing is in the plan. Samoyeds typically reach a medium-large adult size, and large paws on a pup are only a rough clue. A vet can track her growth at each checkup and recommend food suited to her stage, since feeding young dogs the right way supports steady, healthy development.
Kitchen floors are a favorite lounging spot because they stay cool and give a puppy a view of everything going on. They can also be slippery, which is hard on young joints. Rugs or mats in the areas where a puppy plays and eats give better grip. Keep floor-level cabinets with cleaning products latched, and sweep up crumbs that might include unsafe foods like onions, grapes, or chocolate.
For now, the only task on her list seems to be lying still and keeping an eye on the kitchen. If dropped crumbs ever appear, she will be ready.
