Two Red and White Corgi Puppies Matched the Pumpkins Perfectly
Between the twisting green vines and a scatter of small orange pumpkins, two red and white puppies sit side by side with their paws neatly together. The pup on the left looks gently at the camera, and the other glances sideways with a sweet, soft expression. Their fluffy coats are almost the same shade as the pumpkins, and a wooden fence and dry leaves tell you that fall is here.
Pumpkin patches are a popular autumn outing, and plain pumpkin is generally safe for dogs in small amounts, with the seeds and stem removed. Some owners add a little cooked pumpkin to meals for variety. Talk to your vet before changing a puppy's diet, since too much can cause stomach upset. Decorative pumpkins that have been painted, sprayed, or left to rot should be kept away from pets. Corgi puppies sniff everything, so a pumpkin patch is a rich new world to them.
Fall decorations bring other hazards too: candles in jack-o'-lanterns, fake cobwebs that can trap a paw or be swallowed, and chocolate candy are all worth keeping out of reach. Corgis are curious and love to investigate anything new, so a quick check of the yard or porch can prevent problems.
These two sit like pumpkin-patch royalty, and their warm, rusty coats make them look as though they belong there. A quiet autumn afternoon suits them perfectly.
