Four Tricolor Corgi Puppies Lined Up on a Bench Like a Tiny Choir
Like a tiny choir lined up for the first song, four tricolor puppies sit on a weathered wooden bench in a perfect row. Their white chests and tan eyebrows catch the light, their ears stand at slightly different angles, and every face looks in the same direction. A potted plant, a pair of sneakers, and a doorway form the background of a quiet porch.
Sitting still is hard for puppies, so this is a great moment. Teaching a pup to sit and stay is one of the first lessons in many training classes, and it starts with short, rewarded attempts. Use a treat, say the cue once, and reward the moment her bottom touches the ground. Practice for a minute or two at a time.
Benches and other raised surfaces can be risky for tiny Corgis. Their long backs and short legs make jumping down a strain, so lift puppies on and off rather than letting them leap. Supervise at all times, since a wiggly puppy can fall. Corgis are clever and often eager to please, and many enjoy learning tricks and basic commands. If you have questions about training or safe play at a young age, your vet or a local trainer can help.
These four make a neat little row, and each looks ready for whatever the next minute brings.
