Five Rottweiler Puppies Squeezed Into One Round Dog Bed and Fell Asleep
Five black and tan puppies have crowded into a single round cream bed, with limbs draped over one another and chins resting on whatever is nearest. Two are snoozing, one rests its head on a neighbor's back, and a few watch the world with half-closed eyes. A basket of laundry, a plant, and a bit of window frame can be seen behind the bed.
A bed with a raised edge, like this one, gives puppies a sense of security. Many dogs like to lean against something while they sleep, and the bolster is perfect for that. When choosing a bed for a Rottweiler, plan ahead, as the breed grows into a large, heavy dog and will need a bigger, sturdier bed soon. Washable covers are a good idea.
Sleeping in a pile helps puppies stay warm, but each pup should eventually have enough space to stretch out. Offering extra beds around the house gives each one a choice. Large-breed puppies can develop joint problems, so a bed with supportive padding is better than a thin pad on a hard floor. Your vet can advise on what is best for your pup's growth. If you ever notice a puppy limping or stiff after rest, call your vet.
For now, though, the bed holds all five, and the rise and fall of their small bodies is the only movement.
