Frank and Marion Each Pinned Up One Corner of the Sheet. Cocoa Found the Gap.

Laundry day is in full swing on the patio, with towels and sheets clipped along two lines and a blue basket of clothes waiting on the ground. Marion and Frank stand on either side of a pair of hanging white sheets, each pinning a corner with wooden clothespins, both grinning down at the furry blur between them. Cocoa has launched herself right through the gap, front legs stretched forward, blue collar flashing, her curly chocolate coat bouncing and her mouth open in a huge happy grin. Clogs, gloves, a green watering can, and potted plants are scattered around the busy little yard.

Flapping fabric seems to bring out the playful side of many dogs, and Poodles, who are energetic and athletic, often love a good game of chase. Laundry day does come with a few hazards, though. Socks, underwear, and small items are a common thing for dogs to swallow, and they can cause serious blockages, so baskets are best kept out of reach. Wooden clothespins can splinter if chewed, and dropped pins should be picked up. Laundry detergent and pods should always be stored up high, since they are harmful if a dog bites into them. A game of fetch before the wash goes up can help an energetic Poodle burn off steam.

The sheets may need another rinse, but Frank and Marion look like they would not trade this moment for anything. Laundry has never been so entertaining.
