Two Heads, One Water Bowl, and Absolutely No Arguments
Two heads, one stainless steel bowl, and absolutely no arguments. A black and silver Miniature Schnauzer dips its bearded muzzle into the water, wiry whiskers dripping, while a pale cream baby goat with tiny horn buds leans in from the other side for a sip of its own. Muddy work boots rest by the doorway behind them, a wicker basket and potted plants sit near the bright window, and a rumpled gray towel lies tossed on the floor. It looks like the end of a busy morning, and both friends are thirsty.
Miniature Schnauzers are lively, alert little dogs with big personalities. Originally bred as farm dogs in Germany, they were used to catch rats, which may explain why they often seem right at home around barnyard life. They are generally friendly and smart, though they can be vocal and quick to sound the alarm. Their distinctive beard and eyebrows need regular trimming and cleaning, especially since that beard tends to collect water and food. Sharing bowls between species is not ideal over the long term, though, since dogs and goats have different health needs, so separate, clean water sources are a good idea for everyday use.
Still, there is something wonderfully friendly about a shared drink after a long play session. With matching wet chins, these two look like they have been doing this for ages.
