There's barely room for one in this wicker basket, but two sleepyheads have made it work. A salt and pepper Miniature Schnauzer curls around the edge, bushy eyebrows and whiskery beard resting on its paws, eyes closed. Snuggled into the curve of its body, a white and tan baby goat sleeps with its head tucked against the dog's chest, long floppy ears falling across the soft blue blanket. Plush toys are scattered across the floor behind them, along with a grey couch, a houseplant, and a sunny hallway.

Miniature Schnauzers were developed in Germany as farm dogs, used to catch rats and guard property, so they often have a watchful, protective streak. Many are deeply loyal and affectionate with their families. They're also sturdy little dogs with a cheerful, spirited personality. Their wiry coat needs regular brushing and professional grooming every several weeks to maintain the classic look and prevent matting, especially around the beard and legs. If a Schnauzer shares space with a baby goat, the usual rules apply: supervise early interactions, give each animal its own retreat, and make sure the goat also has goat companions, since kids are herd animals that thrive in groups.

Somewhere between guarding and napping, this Schnauzer seems to have chosen the latter. The baby goat clearly approves of the decision and has no plans to move anytime soon.
