A Cavalier and a Piglet Shared One Water Bowl Without a Fuss

AI imagecavalier spanielpigletwater bowl

A big steel water bowl sits on the wooden floor, and two thirsty friends have both leaned in for a drink. A Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel bends her silky chestnut-and-white head over the water, and right beside her a small pink piglet dips her snout into the same bowl. A wicker basket, a coat on a hook, and a worn pair of slippers appear in the background, and the light from the door is soft and warm. The two seem perfectly happy to share.

Fresh water is one of the simplest and most important parts of pet care, and a clean bowl should be available all day. Wash the bowl daily, since bacteria can build up in a water dish, and steel or ceramic bowls are often easier to keep clean than plastic. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are gentle, affectionate dogs who are usually friendly with other animals, and their long ears are best kept out of the bowl with a tall, narrow dish. If your pet drinks much more or much less than usual, mention it to your vet.

Penny has her snout in the water and the Cavalier has her ears hanging low. Neither of them is bothered by the company. A shared bowl is a small thing, but it says a lot about good friends. It is a tiny act of kindness.
