A Shih Tzu and a Piglet Hopped Into the Wheelbarrow Together
A galvanized wheelbarrow filled with a bed of straw has become a very comfortable carriage. A black and white Shih Tzu sits up tall with her ears flowing and her dark eyes calm, and tucked beside her is a small pink piglet with her snout lifted and her ears perked. The yard behind them is a bit untidy, with a hose coiled on the ground, a pair of shoes by the doorway, and flowerpots along the wall. The two passengers look as if they are waiting for someone to give them a push.
Wheelbarrows are made for hauling garden loads, but many pets find them irresistible as a seat. If your pet likes to ride, keep it slow, on level ground, and never leave a pet unattended in one, since a tip or a jump could cause an injury. Line the bottom with something soft and dry, and make sure the metal is not hot from the sun. A Shih Tzu is small and sturdy, with a friendly nature that makes her a good companion for almost anyone. Talk to your vet about safe outdoor play for your pets.
Penny is perched with great confidence, and the Shih Tzu seems to take it all in stride. A short ride around the yard would be a perfect end to the afternoon. For these two, the whole garden is a grand tour.
