A black and tan Rottweiler licks the head of a contented snow Bengal cat lying on a carpet. 10 / 31

The Rottweiler Was Very Serious About Giving the Bengal a Bath

AI imagerottweilersnow bengalgrooming

With her eyes squeezed shut in total bliss, a snow Bengal cat lies against a Rottweiler's front legs while the big dog gives her ear a slow, careful lick. His broad black head fills the left of the frame, tan eyebrows lifted, and his tongue just touches her cream-and-gray spotted fur. A toy basket with a plush bunny and a few chew toys wait behind them on a soft carpet.

We might call the dog Bruno and the cat Mochi. Bruno clearly takes this job seriously, using the tip of his tongue as though he were handling something fragile, and Mochi leans into every stroke with her chin lifted.

Dogs often groom those they consider part of their family, and cats do the same, which is why mutual grooming is seen as a sign of comfort. Rottweilers are strong, intelligent dogs that tend to be loyal and calm with the right training and early socialization. Bengals are athletic, curious cats with a distinctive spotted coat and plenty of energy, so they appreciate climbing shelves and interactive play. If your dog grooms your cat, a little is fine, but watch that the cat is enjoying it and not trapped. A quick wipe with a damp cloth is fine, and your vet can help with any skin concerns.

Mochi's smile says she has no complaints about the service at all.
