Jet and Shadow Turn a Leaf Pile Into a Playground for Two

AI imagelabrador retrievermaine coonautumn leaves

A pile of crisp maple leaves has become a playground. A black Labrador Retriever crouches low with his mouth slightly open and eyes on his friend, while a fluffy black Maine Coon reaches out one paw to swat at him. Orange and red leaves cover the floor around them, and a basket of blankets, a plant and a cozy interior give a warm backdrop. Every crunch and rustle seems to be part of the fun, and the whole room smells of autumn.

We could call them Jet and Shadow. Jet's tail must be wagging, and Shadow's long fur stands out like a dark cloud. It looks as if the leaves are part of the game.

Labrador Retrievers are friendly, outgoing and energetic dogs that love to play and carry things in their mouths, and they usually get along well with cats when properly introduced. Maine Coons are sociable cats with a playful side that often lasts well into adulthood. Autumn leaves are fun, but check what is hidden in a leaf pile: sharp sticks, mushrooms or damp mold can make pets ill. Wet leaves also hide ticks in some areas, so check your animals' coats after play and ask your vet about tick prevention. A short brushing afterward clears out burrs and keeps the coat tidy.

Jet and Shadow look like they could play in the leaves all afternoon.
