A Shiba Inu Puppy and a Pony Gazed Out at the Rain Together
A Shiba Inu puppy sits upright on a wooden sill with his chest out and his small pointed ears alert, looking out the window. A shaggy pony stands right beside him, her pale forelock over her eyes and her head tilted toward the glass. Raindrops spatter the pane, and the gray garden beyond is blurred. A knit blanket, a plant and a pile of clutter sit nearby.
We might call the pony Clover and the puppy Kuma. Kuma's cinnamon coat and cream cheeks look warm against the gray light, and both friends seem very interested in whatever is going on out there in the wet.
Shiba Inu puppies are curious, independent and clean, and they can be strong-willed, so early training and socialization help a lot. They tend to be alert and vocal, and they need regular exercise even on wet days. When the weather keeps you in, you can keep pets entertained with food puzzles, a game of hide and seek with treats, or a short training session. Ponies prefer being outside but do need shelter from rain and wind. Keep both animals dry, wipe paws on the way in, and make sure windows and screens are secure so no one tumbles out.
Kuma and Clover look as if they have decided that a rainy day is the best kind of show.
